Josefina

We met Josefina at the main Plaza in San Cristobal de Casas, a city in the state of Chiapas. She makes the colorful woven headbands that we are pairing with our hat collection.

Josefina is the mother of seven children and travels every day accompanied by her children to the main plaza to sell her handmade goods. Since the weather is cold, the local women design and create a series of intricate and unique large skirts that are folded around their waist to protect them from the weather and as a sign of their local traditions.
